Made of heavy-duty 3” wide elastic webbing and measuring 74” in length, these knee wraps provide amazing support when wrapped in a tight spiral around your knee joint. Competitive powerlifters value knee wraps because the elastic tightens during the eccentric (downward) phase of a squat. During the concentric (upward) phase, that stored elastic energy is released, providing a quick burst of power.
Knee wraps are also believed to reduce stress and pulling forces that can cause the quadricep tendon, which attaches to the quadriceps and the patella (kneecap), to detach during heavier squats. These forces can also cause tearing of the quads, another injury you’ll want to prevent. Be sure to consult a fitness/strength training expert if you have not used knee wraps before.
